Thatch is defined as an intermingled layer of dead and living shoots, stems, and roots that develops between the green vegetation and the soil surface. Thatch consists of a loosely interwoven collection of plant matter that imparts sponginess to the turf. A trained Hulett professional can show you if there is a thatch problem in your lawn during your FREE inspection and lawn analysis.
This could be the result of piercing-sucking insects that excrete a waste on to the leaf surface called honeydew. Then a fungus called sooty mold forms and feeds on the honeydew. This fungus detracts from the beauty of ornamental plants and reduces their photosynthetic activity. Hulett's lawn service will help to control the insects that create sooty mold, and therefore help return the natural color of your plants and leaves.
We like to think of it like driving a car. If you don't keep up the routine maintenance then the car will break down and eventually you will have problems.
Pest activity in your lawn is exactly the same way. Our programs are designed to give your lawn routine maintenance to manage your pest issues and to prevent problems before they happen. Our warm climate here in South Florida keeps pests active all year round. So when you think your pest problems are gone, it is only because of the routine pest 'maintenance' performed by Hulett Environmental Services. Without that maintenance, your pest problems would come back.
